Caryle M. Breeden E. A. graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She passed the Enrolled Agents exam in 1987, and has been active as an Enrolled Agent for 35 years. Caryle has been an accounting and tax professional in Knoxville, Tennessee for 42 years. The practice has both accounting clients and tax clients, primarily middle-income 1040 filers and a substantial small/mid-sized business base. Caryle has vast experience in taxpayer representation including tax audits, tax collection matters, tax matter appeals, and tax collection issues post-bankruptcy. Caryle prepares all types of tax returns both Federal and States.
She has served on the Business Administration Advisory Committee for Pellissippi State Technical Community College, providing recommendations and any volunteer assistance for the programs of instruction for the students. Caryle speaks for various functions including Pellissippi State Community College Accounting Intermediate and Business Capstone classes and East TN Chapter of the
American Payroll Association and the East TN chapter of the
Association of Government Accountants on the current accounting and tax industry issuesand most recently spoke to both groups on "Identity Theft", a topic Caryle is specialized in to aid taxpayers in tax return preparation and filing, as well as becoming established in the IRS’s Identity Protection Program. Caryle also helps taxpayers who are a victim of phishing schemes, those vicious phone calls or emails from someone that claims they are from the IRS and pose threats over the phone or the internet. Caryle puts her EA designation front and center and interviewed with WATE-TV in Knoxville, TN once again and gave advice to viewers on the best ways to file taxes this tax season. She shared plenty of information about EAs and the benefits of consulting one. Caryle Breeden discussed "Scientific Entrepreneurship-From Nuts to Bolts" which was a ESE 599 September 13, 2012, seminar at the Bredesen Center at the University of Tennessee, as a part of their vision for the center entrepreneurial mission the Bredesen Center, incorporates entrepreneurial experiences, including partnership opportunities with the UTK College of Business Administration in developing and implementing business plans to accelerate the deployment of new technologies.
She has been a member of National Association of Enrolled Agents since 1993 and has served on the Tennessee Society’s Board of Directors. The National Society of Enrolled Agents actively promotes taxpayer advocacy as well as education. NAEA endorses strong ethical professional standards within its members and the tax preparation profession. She has also served on NAEA’s National Nominations Committee and the National Tax Practice Institute’s Education Conference Planning Committee and served on NAEA’s Education Committee. She graduated in 2010 as a National Tax Practice Institute Fellow. Caryle has been a panelist on IRS Tax Talk Today twice, a one hour live internet program, which along with IRS representatives, have energetic discussions and answers email questions from viewers. Caryle has participated as a representative for the organization at the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants Federal and State Tax Liaisons.
